The Video Game Blog Challenge: Questions 26 & 27

26. Best Voice Acting

The Last of Us. Hands down. I know, this game again, but I couldn’t rave about it enough if I tried. It’s JUST AMAZING. The voice acting was superb. Completely made me fall in love with Joel as a character, and Ellie too. In fact, it’s the one reason I am adamantly against a Last of Us movie being made. HOW COULD YOU DO IT WITH DIFFERENT VOICES?!?!?! Yeah, I can’t handle that.

27. Most Epic Scene Ever

These questions seem to be getting a bit repetitive towards the end here – didn’t we basically cover this in Game With The Best Cut Scene? I mean if you thought it had the best cut scenes you probably thought it had the most epic scenes as well. . .I digress.

Here are two more scenes I thought were kick ass.

Personally, I loved the original ending to ME3. I really liked the sacrifice, I thought it was very well suited, and I really don’t understand why people threw a fit about it. Granted, I’m a sucker for heroic tragedies, but still. It was a good ending.

I was hooked from this opening scene of Bioshock. From the plane crash, to the beautiful first look at Rapture, I was in. Great game opener.

The Video Game Blog Challenge: Questions 21 -23

21. Game With The Best Story

I know these games keep coming up, but what can I say? They are two games in my top five games ever, so I guess it’s to be expected.

FF7logo

I was so completely blown away with the story of FFVII when I first played it. The complexities of the storyline and characters were just amazing.

When I first heard of The Last of Us, I assumed it was just a cool looking zombie shooter which, what with having a soft spot for all things zombie, I was still really excited about. I have never been happier to have a game be so much MORE. The main story arc, along with watching the character’s relationship develop was just fantastic. I would happily read this game story as a book. It was just that good.

22. A Game Sequel That Disappointed

I realized when trying to answer this that I don’t play too many sequel games that I haven’t enjoyed! But I still mustered up a couple.

Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within. After The Sands of Time, I was so excited for the next Prince of Persia. So imagine my surprise when was I got was a game with horrendous camera work and terrible controls. Yuck. A huge letdown.

Also, any Sonic game since Sonic Adventure for the Sega Dreamcast. Those games just went so badly downhill.

23. Game With The Best Graphics or Art Style

Such a subjective question. In terms of realism, I was blow away by the Last of Us graphics, and the vid of FFXV that have been released is just droolworthy.

But I also love the painterly style of Okami. So much fun!
