This series is supposed to be posted on Sundays, but lately it’s been totally random! Luckily, all our major weekend trips are done for the year, so I can start getting back on schedule with it!

E and beetle

My goal this year was to have my little not be afraid of bugs. She was terrified of them in spring. Now, she’s a bona fide bug lover! At least of ‘non-bitey’ bugs, as she calls them. But if it’s a beetle, butterfly, or caterpillar, she adores it. She is constantly building little bug shelters out of sticks, leaves, and grass for her bug friends!

building and dinos

Building sweet block castles for her dinosaurs!

cloud bull

We saw this cloud while driving, which I totally think looks like a bull charging with his head down. Do you see it? Or something else?

reading

She loves to ‘read’, and I am adoring her being of the age where she knows stories by memory! It’s so cute listening to her read to herself.

caterpillar

A caterpillar friend she found while camping on our annual family reunion this weekend.

Going clockwise…

1. My little has been practicing her writing lately. Not bad for three and a half!

2. More radishes ready for picking! YUM! I love adding them in to tuna salad instead of onions. Adds great flavor!

3. Saga. So in love with it! My awesome neighbor has lent me the first two, and I can’t wait to read the third!

4. We took our first raspberry picking trip last week! So much yummy goodness – raspberries are my absolute favorite fruit!

We were pretty busy last week. It was filled with friends, fresh air, and fun – just the way we like it!

1.

Another new photo for the red boots series! I bought my little a new net for the summer, and she is on a mission to catch a fish with it! It’s still way too early for now, but hopefully we’ll get some minnows by the end of the year.

2.

We saw so many of these beautiful iridescent beetles while out walking on the train tracks in the woods! The little miss loved them. So glad she’s no longer too afraid of bugs!

3.

On Saturday we went with some friends to the NH Sheep and Wool Festival. It was so much fun! The kiddos got to pets lots animals (like this alpaca here) and I saw so many fantastic handmade artisan products, including my new favorite soaps ever. There will be a separate post about those!

4.

My two favorite people in the world.

5.

The little is now a Level 1 Bubble Master. Oh yeah.

It feels so nice to be taking pictures constantly again. Towards the end of the winter season I felt like I was hardly taking pictures at all, and I missed it. Lately, I’ve been taking so many pictures I don’t even know which ones to choose from! It’s nice to be able to look back through my folders and have the days documented in photos.

1

I’ve decided I’m doing a personal series of my daughter with the black and white photo and only her boots in color. I love them. And since she wears these boots all the time (they’re her favorite), I like seeing the places they go! Might have to dedicate a living section to some prints at the end of the year.

2

I’m so happy our bird feeder is being used! It’s so nice to sit in the morning having my cup of tea, with my little in my lap as we watch the birds together. And luckily one of my best friends is (what I consider) a bird expert so she can identify all the birds in my photos for me, just for extra fun!

This new teacup is rocking my world.

4

Edgar loves to watch us out the window when we’re outside. However, he is terrified of the outdoors. Our bigger cat, Eli, is the adventurer of the two!

5

We’ve been working on getting the miss less afraid of bugs. It’s been going really well! She loves learning all the different kinds. It’s a bit blurred in this photo, but she has a little beetle crawling on her hand and she was so excited about it! She dubbed it her ‘little beetle friend’ and every day since she has looked for it when we go outside!

What were you up to this week?
